I’m obsessed with three iPhone charging gadgets – I’ve abandoned cables and put one in my bedroom, at work and in my bag

HOW exciting can a phone charger be, really? Well the answer is: extremely.

I’ve been testing out a trio of wireless chargers from Anker, which is one of the biggest names in iPhone accessories.

And unlike many of the gadgets I test, I’m still using them well after I needed to for work. Top stuff.

They’re all part of Anker’s MagGo range, which takes advantage of Apple MagSafe technology.

If you’ve bought an iPhone in the past few years then it’ll very likely offer MagSafe charging.

Apple explains: “MagSafe chargers and battery packs snap to the back of iPhone or its MagSafe case or sleeve. The magnets ensure proper alignment for fast wireless charging”

The catch with all three of these accessories is that they’re really designed for Apple obsessives – so you’ll have a better time if you’ve got several gadgets from the firm.

IPHONE CHARGING ACCESSORY #1 – Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1 Pad)

So first up is the 3-in-1 MagGo Pad, which is the product I’ve plonked down on my nightstand (or bedside table, if you’re reading this in the UK).

It charges not just an iPhone, but also Apple AirPods and the Apple Watch all at the same time.

Gone are the messy mass of cables that such a gadget arsenal used to demand.

Now I have a lovely pad that my wife can’t be angry about, and that won’t trip me up during a bleary-eyed trip to the toilet at 3am.

The good thing about this (and all three of these chargers, in fact) is that it supports StandBy mode.

This is an iPhone setting that is activated when the device is on charge, and turned sideways.

As Apple explains: “You can use StandBy to turn your iPhone into a bedside clock, a photo frame, a display for viewing widgets or Live Activities in full screen, and more.”

It’s the perfect way to have a clock on your nightstand, charging your iPhone at the same time.

IPHONE CHARGING ACCESSORY #2 – Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (Foldable 3-in-1)

But wait, it gets even better.

The first charger was fairly sizeable, so it’s really only good for when you’ve got a bit of space.

If you want something to move around a little bit, there’s the Foldable 3-in-1 instead.

This is a foldable pad that’s smaller than an iPhone (but about 2.5 times as thick).

And it flips out to support MagSafe iPhone charging (including StandBy mode), as well as powering your AirPods on the flat level too.

What’s more, you can flip out a third pad from the underside to power up your Apple Watch.

I use this one at work as it’s easy to shift around from my desk to meeting rooms – and it’s great for travelling too.

IPHONE CHARGING ACCESSORY #3 – Anker MagGo Power Bank (10k)

That’s cool, right? Well take a look at this.

What if you want to charge but there’s nowhere to plug in? Anker has made a Power Bank version with a 10,000mAh battery inside.

The downside with this model is that it’s only really for charging one item at a time – either an iPhone or AirPods.

But it supports StandBy on your iPhone (courtesy of a small kickstand).

And it’ll also magnetically attach to the back of the handset like a battery pack.

Sean Keach / The U.S. SunYou can flip the kickstand back in and simply use it as a magnetic battery pack if you prefer[/caption]

This is a great one for chucking in a backpack, providing some emergency juice when you’re far from a power outlet.

It also has a little portable display on the side that displays info like remaining charge.
