Tinder finds your hottest selfies with AI by ‘face-scanning’ pic albums — exact five photo features it’s hunting for

TINDER has unveiled a new AI-powered feature that takes the pain out of picking pictures for your profile.

The Photo Selector tool aims to find the best selfies in your iPhone or Android’s photo albums so you can better dazzle potential dates.

The feature is set to roll out to UK users in later this summer.

Profiles donning poor quality pictures is a common complaint among online daters.

Be it a blurry photo, a heavily edited one, a pic with poor lighting, or perhaps there’s just too many pals in frame.

There are five photo features that the AI will be searching for to crown a snap worthy of being pasted onto your dating profile.

Decent lighting

Pictures that look like they’ve been taken under the covers will – and should – be avoided.

The Photo Selector will lean towards well-lit photos, where your face is visible and clear.

Guess who

Your profile is meant to advertise you.

It should be clear from the get-go what you look like.

The Photo Selector is going to skim over large group pics for the most part.

Although, one picture with friends or family if fine – as long as it’s not in the first slide.

Crystal clear

If you’ve cracked your phone camera, invite a pal to play photographer – or simply get it fixed.

Blurry photos, for whatever reason, are a big no-no when it comes to online dating.

And the AI-powered tool will be drawn towards crisp photos where your face is clear and your features are distinguishable.

Out with the old

The Photo Selector will also aim for images that are more recent, and not your baby pictures or grainy selfies from 2015.

If you don’t have any recent photos of yourself – and are aiming to avoid any catfishing allegations – then it’s time to recruit a friend to get some snaps of you.

Say cheese!

Aside from all these picture rules, it’s important to have fun – and show you’re having fun.

The Photo Selector will be on the hunt for pictures with a variety of personality-popping pics.
