The branch, which opened when the shopping centre did in 2015, will close down on July 26, reported the Telegraph & Argus.
A spokesperson for The Broadway said: “We can confirm that Burger King will be closing on July 26.
“We will be announcing new fashion and beauty retailers in the coming weeks.”
It comes as construction work is ongoing for a drive-thru branch of Burger King on Harrogate Road, Eccleshill.
A spokesperson for Burger King said: “We can confirm that our Broadway, Bradford restaurant will be closing.
“However, we’re pleased to share that customers can enjoy Burger King at our new Eccleshill, Bradford restaurant, opening next month.
“We’ll be in touch with more information on the new opening soon.”
In October 2023, Burger King revealed it planned to open 30 new restaurants by the end of the year.
Burger King kick-started its expansion by opening five new sites in October.
The company said it had long-term plans to open 60 restaurants in total over the next two years.
In 2022 the restaurant chain opened 32 new Burger King UK-owned restaurants and also acquired 74 from its largest franchise partner, Karali Group.
It also upgraded 32 restaurants including Leicester Square flagship and said it would complete a further 10 by the end of 2023 – including Manchester Piccadilly and Thorpe Park.
The company announced a “resilient performance” and reported that total revenue was up by 39 per cent in 2022.
Major chain axes free coffee
A HIGH street coffee chain is cutting free drinks from its paid-for loyalty scheme as part of a shake-up to the subscription.
Club Pret at Pret a Manger currently costs £30 a month, or £360 a year, and members can get five free hot or iced barista-made drinks each day.
The scheme also offers 20 per cent off the rest of the food and drink menu.
But under changes coming in September, subscribers will instead get 50 per cent off five barista-made drinks a day instead.
Discounts on the food menu through the scheme will also end.
At the same time, the price of the scheme will fall to £10 a month – with a reduced rate of £5 a month available until the end of March 2025.
Furious customers have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to slam the decision.
One subscriber said: “Have a word I will be cancelling as I think many others will be!!! Shame on you.”
Another added: “Pret changing their subscription to 50 per cent off five drinks instead of it being free five drinks…. that just ruined my day.”
A third cried: “It’s a very sad day for coffee lovers.”
Meanwhile, Burger King is bringing back a popular item that recently left the McDonald’s menu.
The salty snack left the Burger King menu late last year but due to popular demand, it’s now made a comeback.
Halloumi Fries returned on April 23 and for the first time ever they are available to order on Uber Eats.
The announcement has delighted cheesy chip enthusiasts and comes just in time to prevent them from having a total meltdown as Maccies discontinues the fries.
