DALEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — Two women are behind bars accused of abusing a child at a Daleville daycare.
On September 12th, the Daleville Police Department received a call for service at Medical Center Enterprise for allegations of child abuse.
Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the parents of the victim, who stated the child had bruises and swelling when the child was picked up from daycare. They said the bruises were not on the child when dropped off.
According to DPD, the child was examined by medical staff and later released.
Investigators with the Daleville Police Department interviewed the owners and staff of Happy Hearts Christian Academy Daycare in Daleville the following morning and gathered evidence leading to the arrest of Kailey Gilly, 20 of Daleville on two counts of Aggravated Child Abuse and Magan Koler, 30 of Enterprise on four Counts of Aggravated Child Abuse.
Both suspects were transported to the Dale County Jail, where they are being held with no bond in their cases pending a first court appearance. The case is still under investigation and police say additional charges are expected against the two women.
The name of the victim will not be released in this case due to the age of the child.
