HARTFORD, Ala (WDHN) — A suspect is in custody after authorities say he led officers on a police chase through three counties.
Hartford Police Chief Pete Markow identified the suspect as Brandon Ellison Bond of Georgia. He is charged with several counts of attempting to elude, drug possession, and at least one count of assault out of Houston County.
According to Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship, Bond was caught impersonating an officer in Barbour County and fled after being approached by law enforcement.
Sheriff Blankenship says the chase went through Dothan, Headland, and into Hartford where Bond was stopped with a pit maneuver and arrested.
Chief Markow tells WDHN Bond tried to run over one of his officers who laid spike strips at Highway 52 and Lewis Road in Slocomb.
