FORTNITE developer Epic Games has announced that the popular battle royale will shortly be available on Apple products.
Epic Games and Apple entered a legal battle over payment methods, as iPhone’s maker usually takes a percentage of profits from all in-game purchases.

As Epic Games wanted parity in price for in-game purchases across all platforms, it didn’t agree to Apple increasing the price on iOS platforms.
Apple removed Fortnite from iOS, including iPhones and iPads, back in 2021, but the game could be making a comeback.
On July 5, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney and the official Epic Games Twitter account both tweeted about the return of Fortnite to iOS.
Epic Games claims that Apple initially rejected the company’s submission for Fortnite, claiming the design of the purchase buttons was too similar to Apple’s own purchase buttons.
The official tweet reads: “Apple has rejected our Epic Games Store notarization submission twice now, claiming the design and position of Epic’s ‘Install’ button is too similar to Apple’s ‘Get’ button.
“And that our ‘In-app purchases’ label is too similar to the App Store’s ‘In-App Purchases’ label.”
However, the same day Epic claims that Apple reversed the decision, giving temporary approval.
Apple hasn’t commented on the situation, and we only have Epic sources to go by.
Sweeney’s tweet about the situation reads: “Apple’s DMA saga has taken a turn towards the absurd.
“Apple is now telling reporters that this approval is temporary and are demanding we change the buttons in the next version – which would make our store less standard and harder to use.
“We’ll fight this.”
These changes only apply within the EU, and Fortnite will require approval in all regions before it is added to the store for those players.
