Capcom’s upcoming Xbox 360 classic comeback has a release date and eye-watering number of upgrades

Dead rising deluxe remaster SffAxw

CAPCOM recently revealed a teaser trailer for one of its most popular classic titles, but it didn’t show us much.

Fans were extremely excited for the comeback of Dead Rising, despite the fact that the teaser only showed protagonist Frank West jumping from the helicopter.

However, Capcom recently held a showcase that gave us new details about the upcoming remake.

Firstly, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has a release date, and people will be able to dive in as soon as September 19, 2024.

This is the release date for the digital version of the game, but Capcom confirmed that a physical version would launch in November.

It will also be slightly cheaper than many triple-A games and will cost just £40/$50 at launch.

Those who pre-order the game will get a number of exclusive costumes for Frank as well.

Despite being called a remaster, it’s clear from the new reveal that this is actually a remake developed in the Resident Evil engine.

The game has received a huge graphical overhaul, and the difference between the look of the original and the remaster is night and day.

It will also run at 4K/60fps, and includes a number of quality-of-life improvements to help it match modern standards.

Frank can now move while aiming, and there will be autosave which was not present in the original game.

Fans will be happy to hear that NPC behaviour has been improved, meaning that survivors are less likely to run straight into danger.

You will also be able to fast-forward time so that if you just want to complete the main missions you don’t have to wait around.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
