XBOX frequently releases new versions of its Xbox Series consoles, offering a type of console to suit all budgets.

The company even recently announced three upcoming consoles, ranging from a new Series S to an Xbox Series X with more storage.

However, there was another console announced, which would play Xbox Series X|S games that was never released to the public.

Back in 2021, Xbox announced that a new cloud streaming console, codenamed the Xbox Keystone, was in development.

This would be cheaper than the Xbox Series S, and would allow people to stream Xbox games to their TVs.

The Keystone would be ideal for Xbox Game Pass subscribers who choose to stream games rather than buy them.

People got their first look at the console in 2022, when fans spotted the Keystone on Xbox chief Phil Spencer’s shelf.

Soon after Spencer revealed the console was ‘years’ from release.

As Xbox wanted the Keystone to cost between $99 and $129, it was a difficult price point to reach at the time.

People have now discovered a new patent for the Keystone which was granted on December 26, 2023.

While it was granted fairly recently, it should be noted that it was filed by Xbox on June 1, 2022.

The patent doesn’t mention the word Keystone, and is only described as an ‘electronic console’.

However, as the patent is only for the design of the console, and not the technology inside, there are a huge number of pictures for the console’s design from every possible angle.

Matching the images with the pictures we’ve seen in Phil Spencer’s house, it seems that this design is for the Keystone.

The newly revealed patent doesn’t give much extra information about the console, other than showing it from some new viewpoints, but it has given people hope that the Keystone could still be released.
