DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Police are trying to identify suspects wanted in connection with a late-night drive-by where an elderly woman was accidentally shot.
According to Dothan Police, just before 11:00 p.m. Thursday, the woman was hit by gunfire from a car while walking out the front door of her home in the 1100 block of Price Street.
Dothan Police Lt. Scott Owens says the woman was hit in the leg and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the home was shot multiple times.
Police could not confirm the woman’s exact age but did say she was elderly.
Lt. Owens tells WDHN the woman is believed not to have been the target of the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
