GENEVA COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — A Slocomb man is behind bars after investigators claimed he broke into several storage units in eastern Geneva County earlier this summer.
David Cody Lamar Denney, 31, was arrested on Wednesday, June 3, and charged with three counts of receiving stolen property.
According to Sheriff Tony Helms, Denney was wanted in connection with at least three break-ins at a storage warehouse facility in Malvern during June.
Sheriff Helms tells WDHN that Denney was seen breaking into storage units on surveillance footage from the warehouse and surrounding businesses.
Sheriff Helms said several items, including tools, clothes, assorted memorabilia, and more, were stolen from each storage unit.
GCSO deputies and Slocomb Police arrested Denney after searching his home on Pine Road in Slocomb.
The sheriff claimed that during the search of Denney’s home, deputies found and recovered several stolen items.
The investigation is ongoing, and GCSO investigators expect additional arrests to be likely.
