A keen shopper spied the item in their local store and was thrilled at the price.

Posting the find to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK  Facebook group, they said: “Down to £150 in B&M.”

They shared a photo of their newly purchased garden set in its box.

Fellow bargain hunters were quick to comment on the post and make plans to head to their nearest B&M to bag one.

One wrote: “I bought this Bali range 3 years ago and it’s still in great condition cushions go quite flat so I have scatter cushions on mine and the cover from Tesco as the B&M one for this sofa let’s all the water in.”

Another said: “Would love something like this for the front of the bar.”

A third commented: “I paid £499 in B&Q for mine!

“It’s bigger but I would have bought this one hahahahaha typical.”

A fourth posted: “We’ve got this we paid £200 for it down from £250 excellent by no issues.”

B&M describes the set, which includes a table too, as “stunning” and “modern”.

The sofa is approximately 190cm wide, 65cm tall and 63cm deep at one end and 131cm at the other

The table measures 58cm wide, and 31cm tall and has a depth of 58cm.

The whole set is made with a black rattan effect and has a woven construction.

The sofa also comes with cushions and the set is said to be easy to set up too.

It’s listed for £300 on the website, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to buy it online but it is available in stores – or you can view it on the website.

However do bear in mind that when prices are reduced by this much it’s usually in order for stores to clear excess stock, so availability will vary from store to store.

It’s always best to phone ahead to your local shop to check what they have available to avoid disappointment.

You can find your nearest B&M store using the locator tool on the website.

It always pays to compare prices so you know you’re getting the best deal.

There are dozens of similar-looking garden sets listed online but for quite a bit more money.

Studio is selling the same set for £99 – but with a £25 delivery fee.

B&Q has a similar set for around £500, while Homebase has one for £200.

Prices can also vary day to day and by what deals are on at the time, plus remember you might pay for delivery if you’re ordering online.

You can compare prices on platforms like Google Shopping.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.

Meanwhile, B&M shoppers are rushing to nab Quality Street chocolates selling at slashed prices.

Plus, the discounter has reduced the cost of a handy gadget that is scanning at tills for just 10p.
