DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba will represent his hometown and state at two nationally recognized municipal events.
The City of Dothan announced Mayor Saliba would host the 124th National Black Business Conference (NBBC) and The World Conference of Mayors (WCM)’s 40th Anniversary Breakfast Meeting in Tuskeegee on August 21.
Mayor Salia is the President of the Alabama League of Municipalities (ALM).
This three-day event will focus on the training and professional development of mayors and other city officials.
Following the breakfast, the group will take a historical tour of Tuskegee sites, including the tomb of Dr. Booker T. Washington and the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Park Site at historic Moton Field Airport.
Besides Mayor Saliba, the President of Tuskegee University, Dr. Mark Brown, will speak at the breakfast.
When the conference returns to Atlanta, Honorable Joseph Nyumah Boakai, President of Liberia, will be the keynote speaker.
